Epcot at Night - Let's Get Sketchy Challenge

Welcome to another wonderful sketch challenge at Let's Get Sketchy!  This time I really stuck closely to this sketch and it worked out perfectly for the photos I wanted to use.  This is one of my ultimate favorite photos from our Disney trip.  I think that larger photo looks like a postcard!!!  But, rest assured, it is my own photo!  Anyway, keeping this short and sweet, please jump over and join in the challenge at Let's Get Sketchy....Just click HERE!!!

About a Boy - Going In Circles

Today at About a Boy, we are "going in Circles"....What does this mean for you??? It means that we are asking you to use circles on your layout about the men in your life.  For mine, I used a photo of my brother and my son; Brian and Rilen.  The journaling is a little hard to read, but the gist of it is that when my brother was born, I gave him the nickname "Bubba"..... When Brian visited and met Rilen, he was such a big baby that he called him "Bubba 2" ; Hence my title......My 2 Bubbas!

On this page, I took circles a bit of  a different way....I drew them, I used polka dot paper on both the background and one of my paper strips, I used circular buttons and I also used a large circle to the right of the photo as it was in the adorable PageMaps sketch that I used.

So, if you are feeling inspired by this and have some photos of the men in your life that need to be scrapped, get moving and use some circles to meet our challenge!!!!

In addition to the About a Boy challenge, I also entered this in the challenge at Use it Tuesday: Masculine layouts!.  In this layout, I used my hoarded gold Thickers, my buttons and the adorable potty people wood veneers.  I have a habit of hoarding the veneers.  I have way more than I will probably ever use!!  This layout uses the Down by the Shore collection from Fancy Pants.

Very first Time entering at PageMaps

I'm going to keep this layout short and sweet.  I have a few things to do this morning before leaving for the Market, so I will just share that this is my first time entering the PageMaps monthly challenge.  I loved working on this layout.  These are photos from October, 2011 when Alyson and I went to our local greenhouse for their fall festival and stuffed a scarecrow.  Alyson named him "Bob".

I stuck really closely to this sketch and, in spite of all of the white space, I love it!  I think I am learning to embrace the space :)

My first layout is for the "So you think you can scrap" Challenge at Colorful Creations.  This is my 23rd week in the challenge and the 23rd challenge I am meeting.  I was simply given a sketch to work with and this was what I came up with..........

and here is the sketch.............
In addition, I'm entering this over at Scrap Your Story this week for their challenge to document a journey....What bigger journey is there than a pregnancy .... Waiting for that little one to arrive feels like the longest wait ..... But well worth it!!!

The second layout is for Paper Secrets.....I used their awesome sketch to document the email that I got from Scrapbook News and Review letting me know that I was being published!!!!!!
I couldn't let that memory go with out documenting it through a great page!!!
Their sketch is below..........
On this page, I also used my kit from the Paper Bakery.  If you are looking for a great kit club, Sarah offers fabulous kits and lots of fun extras with them and in her shop!!
In addition, I also met the challenge at Chic Tags to use lyrics.  The title is the chorus of a song by Savage Garden....Just replace the "we's" with "I's". .... and you have their amazing song!!

So, if you have time, jump on over to any and all of these blogs and get your "challenge on!".

Just Married - Sketches In Thyme #113

Welcome to another awesome Sketches in Thyme challenge.  This time, I broke out one of the miscellaneous photos from our wedding day.  I didn't include this one in our "wedding" album, but I wanted to scrap it.  It is a picture of me and Keith from after our wedding. We returned to our hotel room and change our clothes to go to Animal Kingdom for the day.  I bought us cute little Just Married shirts to wear that day since we had such an informal wedding and no reception. It was fun hearing "congratulations" for the whole day from random strangers.

I did this layout with an old Basic Grey collection called True Love.  I bought it on clearance at AC Moore one day when I was browsing and just kept it for a while.  I finally used it on a few recent layouts from the wedding.  This sketch was a lot of fun. I eliminated the circle and instead added some paper layers.  I'm not much of a "circle" person!  But the rest is pretty true to the sketch.  I also moved the title up and the journaling down and on the right to make the page work a little better for me.  I hope that you will come and join us at Sketches in Thyme.....Just click HERE to play along!

I am also entering this over at Lasting Memories for the Leather and Lace challenge....I have given my DT position up at Lasting Memories and will forever be grateful for the chance that Karen gave me and for being my very first Design Team.  I've grown so much since then.....I will miss you girls!!!
